Tsurumi Cutter Pumps Power New Lift Station for Apartment Complex
When an apartment complex needed a reliable lift station to support its residents, Custom Pump & Controls knew that they could count on Tsurumi’s C Series submersible cutter pumps™.
With hundreds of residents eager to move in, a brand-new apartment complex in Florida sought out a lift station that was robust enough to handle heavy daily use, dependable enough to run without interruption, and versatile enough to manage wastewater.
The project required a complete packaged lift station, including a basin, pump, and control panels. With only one lift station serving the large apartment complex, Brad Young, Outside Sales Representative at Custom Pump & Controls, knew that performance and reliability were non-negotiable.
“Apartment complexes are often presented with unique challenges for wastewater management, since the fluid typically contains non-flushable materials that can clog standard pumps,” said Young. “Cutter pumps are specifically designed for this environment, preventing blockages that could lead to downtime” Young added.
Timing for this project was critical, as the lift station was the last major installation for the apartment complex. With their ability to handle solids along with high head performance, two Tsurumi 100C47.5 cutter pumps were installed at the site.
Tsurumi’s pumps and rail station were readily available and shipped immediately, ensuring that the project stays on track. Once on site, the lift station was installed within a day. The pumps met their design point on the first run, allowing the apartment complex to promptly move forward with operations.
