Draft AISC Code of Standard Practice Now Available for Review
CHICAGO – A draft of the next edition of the AISC Code of Standard Practice for Steel Buildings and Bridges (AISC 303) is now available for public review and comment.
The next edition of AISC 303 will supersede the 2022 version and is anticipated to be finalized in 2027.
This draft introduces the term “character of work” and integrates the term throughout the standard. It also proposes updates to clarify the responsibilities for the design of member reinforcement.
The draft will be available as a free download at aisc.org/publicreview between November 5 and December 5, 2025. If you’d prefer to review a hard copy, please contact Martin Downs at downs@aisc.org; there is a $35 nominal charge for printed copies.
