FK Architecture Celebrates Grand Opening of The Fountains at Hidden Lake, an Affordable Apartment Community in Crystal River
Crystal River, FL, November 18, 2025 – FK Architecture, a Fugleberg Koch Company, celebrated the grand opening for The Fountains at Hidden Lake, an FK Architecture-designed affordable senior housing apartment complex, earlier this month. Located along Florida’s Nature Coast, the $25 million, four-story community developed by Housing Trust Group (HTG) features 81 one- and two-bedroom apartments for residents aged 62 years and older earning at or below 40% and 60% of the area median income. With more than 81,000 square feet across more than seven acres, residents enjoy access to nature and many amenities.
“This groundbreaking marked an important milestone in bringing high-quality, affordable housing to Florida’s Nature Coast,” said FK Architecture Project Manager Rajiv Ramakrishnan, AIA, LEED AP BD+C. “This community represents more than just new construction—it’s about creating a safe, supportive environment where seniors can thrive, stay active, and feel connected.”
Residents enjoy a range of amenities, including a ground-floor clubroom and fitness center, a community center, horseshoe court, resort-style swimming pool, and a dog park. Apartment rents range from under $800 to around $1,000 per month for units sized between 664 and 925 square feet, with additional services such as grocery shopping and laundry assistance included.
FK Architecture served as the architect of record, with BDI Construction as general contractor, Hamilton Engineering & Surveying handled engineering and surveying, Builders Design provided interior design, and Forward Planning & Design led the landscape architecture.
